The benefits of construction careers continue to pile up as the industry grows at a fast rate. In a February 2021 article 12 Fastest-Growing Industries in the U.S., Indeed.com lists the benefits of holding a job in this industry, including a higher salary, stronger job security, and more career advancement opportunities.
Among their list of the 12 fastest-growing industries, construction ranks 2nd. The article states, “The fastest-growing type of construction is related to heavy civil engineering, which involves land drainage, space improvement and dredging. The growth of this industry is likely tied to an increase in community improvement projects and the development of urban areas across the country.”
Additionally, the article goes on to declare that “construction workers can expect to see an 11% employment rate increase before 2028, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).”
Construction, along with personal care and health care, will account for over one-third of all new jobs through 2022, according to the BLS. These jobs are in high demand and opportunities in this industry have never been higher.
